Almost 30 students visiting the booth today opened our career days. After a warm welcome by Arndt G. Kirchhoff and a booth tour by Andreas Heine Tatjana Schutte and Alexander Güther took over.
After it the students started for the IAA rally and currently still are on their way across the fairground. Soon it will be exciting, there are great prizes to win. Who will get the highly coveted Bose sound box?
Apposite to the motto of the day Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Prime Minister of the German federal state Saarland, was a guest at our booth. Obviously she had enjoyed her visit on our booth two years ago. Also today she listened carefully to the explanations by Dr Thorsten Gaitzsch and Andreas Heine. Clear highlight: the innovation area!
Our shareholders about the characteristics and trends of the IAA 2015
Since 2013, Birgit A. Behrendt is Vice President, Global Programs & Purchasing Operations, Ford Motor Company. She visited our booth together with Keith Cooper, Global Director Body & Exterior and Raw Materials Purchasing, and Alan Draper, Director Global Powertrain Installations Purchasing.
This took place on occasion of a round tour of the VDA Raw Material Committe. Further participants were also the CEOs of the other big automotive suppliers.
Of all days, today was the day to be up early – the release
of the KIRCHHOFF Group racing car is finally here. Our Porsche GT3 races at VLN
Long distance championships like, the 24-hour race at The Ring, the legendary
Paul Ricard track or in international arenas in Dubai, Barcelona or France.
The challenge today was a different one, it was not about
speed, it was about getting the car to be properly displayed at the IAA. With
help from our Polish and German trade teams we drove the vehicle to the freight
elevator and then maneuvered it around several corridors and corners until
reaching our booth.
As of today, it is now our booth’s main attraction for fair
visitors. In the last three hours it has been photographed over 1,000 times!
Crowd-puller in the second IAA week! Until recently on the racetrack since today morning the Porsche GT3 race car of the KIRCHHOFF Group attracts the visitors on our booth.
With over 200 worldwide releases, more than one thousand exhibitors from 39 countries – the 66th IAA car expo in Frankfurt has opened its doors again. Considered a staple in the automotive industry, this year’s show is truly remarkable.
We have asked our colleagues how they evaluate the IAA.
After a calm morning it became turbulent in the afternoon. Three important visitor groups were on the booth at the same time. General Manager Purchasing, Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, and Yohei Nakano from Honda Deutschland listened carefully to Kenji Fukuyama, Country Manager Japan, who explained our products and innovations.
When the Head of Purchasing of General Motors, Steve Kiefer, and Daimler, Dr. Zehender, met during a tour on our booth, they greeted one another with a handshake. Steve Kiefer asked: “How is it going?”.
Here you will find some further pictures regarding these three VIP visitor groups.
An important guest already at the beginning: Rick Snyder (3rd f.l.), the Govenor of the US state Michigan, talked with Arndt G. Kirchhoff (CEO KIRCHHOFF Holding) and Tony Parente (President and COO KIRCHHOFF Van-Rob) about the current innovations and technologies. Thereby, he welcomed the automotive supplier’s growth in Michigan. The US state supports companies who engage in the area of lightweight construction and offers special economic programs. Tony Parente and Peter van Schaik (Chairman KIRCHHOFF Van-Rob) used this opportunity to continue the talks with the Govenor at the evening reception.
