10When looking at this year’s IAA Commercial Vehicles, three trends become obvious.
Trucks become silent: E-Mobility
THE trend of all, which is why alternative or electric drives can be found on nearly every booth. No matter whether at Volvo, who displays electric waste disposal vehicles commonly developed with FAUN, at Renault with their Z.E.-Models (Zero-Emission), at VW the e-Crafter or e-Caddy or various busses like the MAN Lion City E. The IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 could not be imaged without the E.
Safer on the road: automated driving micher
Mercedes introduces a new Actros which drives partly automated. Also the travel bus Tourismo M/2 Safet Couch is equipped with various automated systems. Vision for an electric and autonomous, that means driverless transportation solutions present Volvo and also Mercedes with the study Vision Urbanetic.
Transporters for the “last mile”
VW shows that the transporters for small loads can be redesigned as well. With their Cargo e-Bike, an electric bike, up to 200 kg can be moved by pedaling along.
